Our Ministers

Senior Minister: Rev. Maria Shamaya Clemente

In the three decades of her ministry, Rev. Maria has pastored and assisted numerous churches, hosted a cable TV show on healing, and been a guest on various radio shows on healing, spirituality, meditation, and women's issues. She has traveled as a public speaker and workshop facilitator to churches, bookstores, conferences, and educational centers across America.

Her articles, essays, and meditations have been published in various magazines. She has self-published numerous books and manuals, and released two recordings of guided meditations. She's created a variety of classes, workshops, and spiritual performance pieces that are designed to build community, teach peace and explore creativity.

Rev. Maria has designed and facilitated several programs and events based upon the principles of peace and spirituality for a number of diverse spiritual communities. She is a member of the Morehouse College Board of Preachers, and has been honored by both the Gandhi Foundation USA and the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site.

As a "Roving Rev" Maria discovered CSL Manatee in 2003 and has been speaking and teaching there ever since. Her ministry, "Doorway Into The Infinite," is based in Central Florida and is dedicated to the art of spiritual transformation through exploring, experiencing, and embracing the universal principles of spirituality and peace. Associate Minister: Rev. Gerry Greig

While most people date the beginnings of New Thought with Phineas Quimby, and his most famous student, Mary Baker Eddy, Rev. Gerry Greig's lineage goes back even farther to the 18th century and Emmanuel Swedenborg as Rev. Gerry's parents were members of a Swedenborgian church. Rev. Gerry has a long history with Unity and Religious Science centers in the Sarasota-Bradenton area.

After receiving a Practitioner license from Rev. Toni LaMotta, Rev. Gerry joined with other Science of Mind Practitioners to create the Spiritual Living Center in Sarasota, Florida, that eventually became the Practitioner Core at CSL Manatee. Staff Minister: Rev. Diana Escobar

Diana was born and raised in Westchester, N.Y. In 2001 she moved her family to the beautiful city of Sarasota. She found CSL Manatee in 2010, and became a licensed Religious Science Practitioner in 2016. As a devoted spiritual student, Diana began attending Ministerial school in order to create a new Focus Ministry that will help bridge the teachings of Science of Mind and 12 Steps. Her heart's desire is to be a part of a world that works for everyone. As a dedicated teacher of this scientific philosophy to life, she wants to help all people understand that they can "Change Their Thinking and Change Their Life."

Diana has been in service to CSL Manatee as a board member. She began working as the Treasurer and then became the Vice-President. You also know her as the warm and welcoming host of our Sunday service.
